Can dogs eat Candies?

Can I give my dog Candies?

Candies are sweet treats that are made with sugar, corn syrup, and various flavors and colors. They are not recommended for dogs as they can cause several health issues.

Risks of eating Candies for dogs

Candies can lead to obesity, dental problems, and gastrointestinal issues in dogs. Moreover, some candies contain xylitol, a sugar substitute that is extremely toxic to dogs and can cause rapid insulin release, leading to hypoglycemia, seizures, and liver failure. In extreme cases, if a dog has consumed candies, it is essential to seek immediate veterinary attention.

Additional Information

Safer alternatives to candies for dogs are natural treats like carrots and apple slices or dog-specific treats that are low in sugar and calories.
